Moved to this small town by force pretty much i need a class here.....

I dont know much about internet speed i just payed cox 60 bucks a month and it ran smoothly.

I have a plenty good video card
512 ram
3.0 ghz.

not kick butt but it works..

If i get internet that runs at 8mbps.....will i be able to run gw smoothly....thast the fastest internet they offer here....

Yeah, I was on 8Mb for a while before 16Mb was available and tbh I didn't really notice much change in GW when I swapped.

I play on 4 Mbit and it just plays smoothyl on highest settings (granted, I've got some better specs in the RAM, processor and probably gfx)

The Internet connection's speed shouldn't affect the in-game framerate much; as far as I can tell the game runs just as well on 10 mbit/s as it does on 256 kbit/s.

Unless you have some other reason(s) to pay for an 8 mbit/s connection consider getting a new computer instead.

8Mb is more than enough, although be warned that you probably won't be getting 8Mb though as other things are taken into consideration. Things like, quality of your line, distance from the exchange and contention all add up to limit the speed a bit.

Your 8 Megabit connection gets you a maximum of 1 MegaByte. So you'll have no issues at all running Guild Wars.

Adding some RAM might enhance your gameplay and overall gaming performance though.

I thank you all for the answers and no one flaming on me haha im an idiot when it comes to computers.

Also to get the 1gig or ram instead of 512 cant i just buy memory sticks and put them in? and if that did happen would i notice a big enough change in the gameplay to make it worth it?

I Ha alot im a r9 hero im the caller and im tired of you know the little lag that cause you to miss call a target....i just bought a optical mouse...Lawl at playing on a ball mouse. Yeah and i just want it to run smoothly.

The internet im getting is not dialup so its fine in that.

would i notice a difference in gameplay or is it not worth it?

Yes you can add another 512 of Ram as long as you have a spare slot, which I think you should, you just have to ensure that the ram you buy is compatible with your motherboard and has the same speed, at least I think it has to be the same speed.

Installing ram is very easy, and I think you will see an increase in performance.

how would i figure out if all the ram is compatible for my motherboard? I have like a....2005 or 2006 Dell. Its pretty tight works pretty good but i would like to increase that.

Your laptop probably says Inspiron or something like that near the keyboard. Do you see anything like that?

Download SIW
Unzip the program and run it.
Under Hardware click System Info. In the right panel you will see information on your system. There should be an item listed as Serial Number followed by your systems Serial Number. Right click that field and choose Copy, the paste your system serial number here. Your system serial number does not have any of your personal information.

Seeing as your computer is relatively recent, you might be able to buy some extra ram straight from dell, just by putting in the model number on their website.

Actually that's your Windows Product ID.
76477-OEM means you have Windows XP Home Royalty OEM.
