Default A Bad Freeze

every so often as I'm playing the game, the game completely freezes. I can still move my mouse a bit but the screen is completely frozen. I can't click on anything so I can't exit out of screen (not even ctrl+esc), so I'm having to shut off computer with the power button on the comp. (which I believe isn't a good way to turn it off). Does anyone know what's going on?

My game runs prefectly smooth on this computer. The graphics are great and the speed is great. Movement is fluid and I don't lag at all (except with this odd freeze).

I used to get this all the time when I played Battle for Middle Earth 2 online. It just went away after a few weeks. Must of been an update whch fixed it.

Suggestions:
- Defragment
- Update drivers for graphics card.
- Make sure your Windows is up to date.

If none of these suggestions resolve your issue, post your OS, graphics card (model, RAM, PCI-Express/AGP/PCI), system RAM, processor and any other specs you feel is relevant.

Have you looked at your CPU's fan?

Odds are its dusty and needs a clean.

A while ago, an update caused lots of people to have severe lag, crashing, and sometimes freezing.

Thankfully some genius came up with a solution.

Doesn't work in all cases, but it does help me when my GW gets erratic.

Defragment is irrelevant! I say delete the gw.dat, and use -image command line to redownload data!
