I can assure you, it will not be 300 USD, euros, or anything remotely close to that amount.

I think Nvidia really dropped the ball on this one, the 9800 GX2 looks horrid as well. Of course, as I've said before, it could just be all a marketing ploy making people with their G92's say "oh the 9800 XXX sucks, I'll hang on to this and wait for the GT200".

With specs like that, it better be LESS than 300 USD.

In most games and resolutions less than or equal to 1680x1050, the GTS will win. The gtx only really starts to shine at higher resolutions and filters. Its not like the gt->gts->9800gtx relation, the 8800gtx will win slightly in some cases, and be beaten by just as much in others.

Actually, the GTS matches the GTX/Ultra when it comes to resolution, it's only when filters are turned on, that the GTX/Ultras will start to shine.

I use to run SLI GTX at 2500x1600, my G92 GTS in SLI can match the FPS, falling behind only by a point or two. But I rather play at lower resolution with the AA/AF turned on--even in Guild Wars. I've seen screenshots where people have their AA turned off, it looks horrible.

That 3dmark06 score doesn't make the 9800gtx really worth the money. Even current 8 series cards can hit or come near that.

That's at stock marks, I mean my rig only hits 14k at stock, but 21k when OC'ed. But then again, who runs a machine capable of OC, at stock?

You're right about the price. It's gonna be 300 euros, not dollars. But I think I'm gonna buy a 9800 gtx anyway, I'm running a 7300le right now XD
