Currently I am looking at a new case for my PC. I don't mind what it looks like, i didn't buy my PC for its looks, however my current case has the airflow of a sealed airlock, due to the fact the only fan extracting air is the PSU.

Due to the fact that its apparently the best case for under £100 (£100 for a case

).

Now i could purchase a CPU liquid cooling system for my CPU for £80. However i am leening towards the case due to the fact that even if i had liquid cooling i would still have very poor airflow in my case, I'd also have to drill a hole in it, and get rid of my current CPU fan, which is only a few months old. Not only that but the liquid cooling system does nothing for your GPU, which with adequate cooling, i could easily overclock.

Your opinions would greatly help.

Great case. The 200mm fan has very delicate blades so don't mess around near it. My dad uses that case and never has cooling issues.

He has 2- 120mm fans on the front, 1- 120mm fan on the back, and 1- 120 on the side. The 2 front fans pull air in and all the other fans pull air out. Additionally, he has real computer grade filter material behind the intake fans. His system stays very clean much longer than mine.

Don't venture into Liquid Cooling unless you are willing to spend the bucks and can afford to replace your system if the liquid manages to get out. The results are better but with performance gains comes risk.

I own an antec 900 and if you want a case to keep your stuff cool, it is the one to get. I run GW and Firefox on an Intel core 2 duo at core temps below 25 C. To put it simply, with the case fans on medium, my CPU fan doesn't spin because the computer doesn't need it to.

I would go with the new case, it would help cooling all your components and not just the CPU.

The Antec 900 is a good case, and it looks nice.

However if you are trying to have a unique looking computer - you won't achieve that with that case, literally everyone has that case.

I just went with a Lian Li PC-7B Plus II, 120mm intake fan, 120mm exhaust, 80mm top fan, and room for another 120m on the side panel. Looks simple and elegant - yet very appealing too.

But you mention that you don't care for looks, so I'd say just go with that Antec 900.

Also Liquid Cooling does do something for your GPU - Buy a water block for it and slap it on, then it has liquid cooling. Admael has that setup on his rig. (He'll probably post soon, or you can check the Post Your Computer thread).

I have the Antec900 case at the moment, but it's getting slightly cramped in there now with the ever increasing size of graphics cards. Not to mention the whopping great heat-sink & fan I have over my CPU.

I'm going for this case soon, still sub £100 and for the that price it can't be beaten in my opinion. Seriously, with a touch of creative butchery you could hide a body inside one of these, they really are that spacious.

Steer clear of water-cooling, well unless you have the time and money to pump into it (no pun intended).

I don't like that case, at all.

You can't remove the mobo tray. There are no fan filters. Not a tool-less case. For a gaming case, there is no cable management what so EVER. This is a "super mid" tower so the case is pretty wide... but the PSU mounts on the bottom (why? heat rises -_-) and my 12pin power connector is at the top of my board, it won't reach and it also makes your case look like a rat's nest the way you have to connect the wires... oh did I mention there are no fan filters? Because this case gets real dusty, real fast with the amount of air that it moves.

But, it does have a nice drink holder on top.

Solid watercooling costs about 250 USD. You pay more for each component you wish to cool. By solid I mean, "to obtain better temps than air"

I have a case with a psu mounted on the bottom. It's pretty great really, if you mount the psu upside down, and just mount one of ACRyan's fanfilters between your PSU and the floor. If your psu is at the top, it takes in warm air.

My PSU is mounted at the bottom as well and in a separate chamber, but the case I have is short, so the distance between the PSU rails and the connectors on my mobo are within reach. You might not be so lucky with the Antec Nine Hundred.

And that's an interesting thing to say about the mounting of the PSU...
My PSU has a 120mm fan on the BOTTOM of the PSU, the way I have it mounted (right side up) doesn't allow it to draft as much air as it could... but then again, it has it's own chamber with no other heat producing components.
