The best way to get rid of fingerprints and other various spooge is take a little Windex, spray it on a paper towel, then wipe it down. I use this for computer monitors and TVs. DON'T spray it directly onto the monitor, as it tends to run down and get inside the case- probably not so good.

Make sure your monitor is off and "cool". LCD's do heat up a little. It will prevent streaking from happening.

windex is bad it contains ammonia. (unless you have ammonia free then nvm)

Some CRT's have a coating on the glass to prevent glare, and windex will chew it up over time.

Windex is Glass cleaner, so on an LCD I wouldnt fathom the Idea.(EX: go to any convenience store and look at anything plexi glass thats been there over time. All those scratches are due to glass cleaner.)

I use a damp soft cloth (water)
If I had friends over on Drunk night and they get their pizza fingers prints on the screen,I smack them then use a damp soft cloth. (water, 1 drop dish soap)

if kids decide your monitor is a coloring book, a dry paper towel takes it right off like an eraser.

If its a TFT Monitor (no glass) DO NOT use paper/kitchen towels, they will scratch the screen. I use some wipes for cleaning mine, but failing that use a soft cloth.

Lint free cloth. I only clean my screen when it becomes really dirty. I'm lazy like that.

I use Monster ScreenClean.

You spray directly onto the LCD and wipe in circles with the included cloth.

It depends on the screen.

CRT: Windex or any sort of cleaning solution.
LCD: A damp soft cloth is all you need.

I turn off monitor to see the prints then breath on the screen to make fog then wipe with a clean cloth shirt. Been working like that for 14 years.
