Default Laptop expected tomorrow - GW Performance

Hello, at some point tomorrow I'm expecting a laptop to arrive and I have a question about the performance of Guild Wars.

ASUS M50SA AK002C.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz, 64-bit

3 GB DDR II SDRAM, 667 MHz

ATI Radeon HD 3650

Serial ATA-150, 320 GB 5400 rpm

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium

Thanks in advance!

You will be able to run it at max settings with a fairly good fps. The only limiting factor is your HDD. 5400 RPM might give you loading times that are a bit slow, but once you load, there won't be any issues.

What about games such as Crysis, will they run on this machine?

Crysis on that? hmm.. If you don't change from the native resolution of the monitor when playing i'd say you'd be lucky if medium played decently.

Crysis on that low-med settings at best. I can run Crysis fairly well on med settings at 1680x1050, buy my card is better then yours.

Yeah that's a very slow hard drive. If you're the type who can feel the speeds of computers such as before and after a defrag, etc. Then you'll definitely notice the hit of a 5400RPM HDD.

Thanks for the answers.

Actually the thing I was most worried about was the graphic card, since I'm not very familiar with ATI cards, are they any good?

And about the hard drive... I've seen that the ASUS G2Sg 7R013J, has a 4200 rpm hard drive, isn't that badder? (I'm not really familiar with hard drives either )

Gonna try the Crysis demo on it and see if it'll work.

Ideally try and get a 7200 rpm in the future.

When you say "fairly good fps" is that like 30-40 or more/less?

I think you'll get just fine fps with guildwars. I believe it's not really perceptiple after 40, am I right? Anyway, and I know this because I was thinking of getting one, the graph card on it is a medium-range card. It will run gw with high settings, my old 7300le can run gw at 25 fps with just 1gb of ram, but games like crysis, I don't think you can run it at anything better than medium, on lower than native resolutions, maybe other games like cod4, if you don't turn on AA, cause ati cards don't handle that well.
