Default Vista's Doing It Again

Well trying to connect to my Vista lappy through my XP desktop. I've had them talking wirelessly in the past, and now while they will both recognize each others existence it informs me they are blocked. I've created another username, the same for both machines to no avail.

So fair enough i think, I've connected to my mates other vista lappy via crossover cable for LAN's, I'll just get my cable and plug it in.

Same thing happens as with wireless. Anyone know what the problem is or how to resolve it? (If there is, i know Vista and XP get along like a chicken and a fox most of the time).

Thanks for your time!

An improperly configured firewall can block them

also there's this new feature on forums where it shows your name beside your post, you don't have to sign them with your name.

Try Safe Mode with Networking on Vista, then XP, then both to see if you can isolate the problem machine.

Also, post all the security software on your computer.

Check the workgroup setting on both machines and as mentioned previously, try Safe Mode with Networking.
