Alright so I am running currently on my comp an Intel Celeron CPU, 2.4 GHZ, and I have 512 RAM, if I increase my RAM to 2 Gigabytes how much of a difference will it make?

Speed difference will be pretty noticeable. But with a Celeron single-core processor it's still gonna be a little limited.

It also depends on how much experience you have with computers as to how much of a speed difference you'll notice. Depends on what you're doing as well.

Quite a bit. Picture this:

Input commands (Games, etc) > goes through the RAM, like a gateway > to the CPU

Up to a point, upgrading your CPU does nothing without higher RAM, so yes, much higher RAM would help. But make sure your computer is capable of being upgrades that much, some older ones aren't compatible with that high a RAM.

Just one more question, I heard that your processor speed (I.E 2.5 GHZ in my case) makes no difference to the speed of a computer.

Is that true?

Well, no, that's no exactly true.

Different processors can act differently though. Some processors (such as the Celeron you have if I remember correctly) have certain features disabled. So in that sense they're not as "fast" as a regular Pentium. This is true of most chips used in laptops or other chips used for mobile environments.

Quite a bit. It's been my experience that GW benefits pretty noticeably up to about 1Gig ~ 1.25Gig of RAM. Beyond that, the improvement is negligible. And, of course, a better video card matters far, far more than RAM.

I won't lie to ya. Buy slow RAM, experience slow machine.

You don't want to cheap out on the RAM.

when I first started playing GW on my old pc I had just 512 ram, after 6 months or so I upgraded to 2 GB of ram and the difference was remarkable. I expect that 2 GB is more than is necessary, but as long as your pc supports it I would get it. It will help your computer for other games, or just about any semi-intensive useage, and certainly won't hurt it for everyday use.
