If you don't have important files on that comp, save your GW.dat file and stuff that you need onto flash drives and DVD/CD's, then wipe your hard drive, then install everything again. Or get some really good spyware sweeper from a store in REALITY, not virtual, otherwise you risk more spyware.

i dont think the problem is that i HAVE spyware, i think i have a virus that is trying to get me to download spyware. It isn't only happeneing in guild wars either, i am getting this popup on the internet also. The only thing i think may have done it was that some website opened real player which i have never used or even knew i had, and it was trying to do some configurations.

edit: i have purchased a spyware and virus sweeper for my computer. I got it from norton

Scan with avast, then get Spybot, Malwarebytes Anti Malware, Ad-Aware, etc.

http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/PC_Maintenance is a page which will give you details on how to clean your computer of infections.

Argh.. anything but them..

Either way I hope you get it off, I'd have said run spybot etc, but this also sounds like Ad-ware too.

Get Ad-Aware 2007 or something? That's what I use to scan for Ad-Ware.

You can go here and download a package. I recommend the Anti-Malware Professional package.

Oh wow dude. that seems like a horrible virus. I was almost tempted to click the link you provided... but i will not :P
i would try to reformat after you get anything important off, or try and do everything scan wise in Safe mode, why? because its safer! good luck

Please don't click the link, it's probably malicious.

Just install the scanners you downloaded and run them, they *should* pick up something.

seems that after some resarch all my symptoms point out that i have contracted some zlob trojan spyware. This does make sense, because I have visited multiple social sites and clicked on questionable links (lapse in judgment lol) I'm currently running scans, and i'll post back the results.

I'd advise you to not type in your Guild Wars password on that computer, in order to protect your account from hackings.
