Default Computer Slowness

I was playing some Guild Wars when I get the usual random crash. It happened yesterday and now my computer goes through all this 'checking'. Checking C:, F1 Setup, F2 Continue, beeping noises, startup lag, etc. Is there someway I can undo all of this crap?

My WindowsXP just went Windows98 speed .

I play GW all the time without any crashes!

I would be concerned with overheating since it beeps (could actually be a number of hardware issues).

Heh, yeah - beeping could mean anything has failed. Or, if it's one beep, nothing has.

Sounds like it's just scanning for errors because it shut down unexpectedly. If it keeps doing it, we need something more specific to help. Start with your specifications and then all error mesages you've seen.

http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

Just find your BIOS name and document it and the beeps.
