Okay im gonna try my best to explain this problem.

Okay my computer turns on, like everything is on fans are spinning etc. Problem is thats this is as far as it goes, doesnt go to the boot screen where the window xp loading thing is and the mobo screen. my monitor isnt even on, so is my keyboard/mice.

it was working properly earlier today. Happened few times during today but it worked after i pressed reset button not it doesnt even seem to work.!

Btw this computer is around 3weeks old.

cpu-e6850 3.0ghz
gpu 8800GTS 512 in sli
case is antec 900
PSU 750watt silverstone sli ready
hdd samsumg 500gig
msi p7n sli platium nforce 750sli

And you forgot to mention your motherboard.

I built a machine with the E6850 not too long ago for a friend of mine. Even though a lot of times to the motherboard says it supports the processor, it doesn't. What you need to do is flash your bios to get it supported, or get another motherboard in case it doesn't support it at all.

Post your motherboard please.

If it needs flashing, you're going to have to take it back to where you got it and tell them to do it for you, because I'm sure you don't have a random processor laying around that is supported so you can flash the bios and put the other processor back in.

You probably need to flash your BIOS to version 1.1.

Be sure your monitor is firmly plugged into your video card. If you hear a sequence of beeps check the motherboards manual to see if it refers to error codes. The motherboard will beep differently for memory errors, cpu errors, etc. Also be sure your video card is firmly in the slot. I had a problem similar to yours several months ago. It was a dead video card, but it had showed signs of dieing before.

sounds like your video card mine did the same thing when my card died make sure its in its slot firmly,if it is and u got a video output on your MB take out the card and put the lead in the MB

hmm, im on sli atm i did reboot with the DVI pluged to the second video card same result.
And i highly doubt its my video card, was playin cod4 today and it was fine. No artifacts, avg temp was 57 on load both card.

System is new just took a look inside and no dust lying around.
All cables connected correctly no loose ones.
With my mobo i have a button to reset the cmos, pressed that nothing happened.

One sad sad night for me. QQ

It's most likely a hardware problem. My guess would be your CPU is malfunctioning/damaged/fried. Check/Replace CPU or RAM.

Basically it's up to you to check your hardware components.

Ah yea one thing i did do was update my driver to the new nvdia one (cant remeber the version) though the computer Did boot after the instalation. this was rougly 2 days ago.

So the Nvidia driver decided to leave you alone for 2 days before screwing you over somehow?

Does your PC make a "beep" sound when it normally started?

Edit: Just to clarify your POST (simplified: your PC starting up) is not effected by any software (excluding software that alters the BIOS) you install on your computer, this includes drivers.

Nope no BEEPS!!!!! i dont think anything fried up no burning smell, i always monitoring my cpu/gpu
cpu temp=22c-32c (onload)
gpu 45-57c (onload) (fan on 40%).

There's not much other than hardware failure that would cause your computer not to boot. Not all damaged hardware leaves a smell.

Hmm i also find that my power cable to my powersupply is rather loose. Will this be the problem?

Unlikely since your fans etc all turn on. Your PC needs 4 thing to boot: PSU, CPU, GPU and RAM and you'll need a working screen to display this information. Check these 5 components.

hmm..Im not really an expert, How do i check =)?
i only tried smelling so far XD seems fine.
i was told if it was a ram problem it would beep>? no beeping here so can i rule that out?

Best way to check is by replacing these components with other functioning components i.e. replacing each component with a working one and seeing if the computer boots. Or using each component on a working computer. If you don't have access to spare parts, the only other thing to do is bring it to a computershop to get fixed.
