I am on a college network and had to setup Putty and Freecap to using some programs.
I can play Wow and PSO BB via this setup.
I am able to make it past the patch server (Arenanet) upon first load of GW
I get to the login page for the game and it looks like it starts to connect but then fails.

Has anyone else been able to play GW from a another network like work/college?
Using Freecap/Putty?

might be your internet connection, back when the game was released i had dial up, and that happened sometimes. for the past 2 and a half years i have ADSL and that problem stopped.

Erm, we're talking network tunnelling here...

yes snog you're right they're is probably a total work around for it but it depends on which defenses run on the server of the school network , while those keep intruders out 90 % of the time they limit alot of the stuff you try to do (know that from when i was still in school, can't say it took us too long to get past it (ok helps if one of you're friends is one of the admins ^^))

Very weird, maybe their GOLD SELLER CRACKDOWN STUFF have done something to network tunneling as well? <<;
