Default Dual monitors?

Has anyone every played Guild Wars with dual monitors? Will the game take up TWO WHOLE monitors, or will it take ONE monitor, and allow me to look up windows (Wiki, etc) on another monitor? I'm getting a new video card pretty soon, and it supports dual monitor. I have a monitor already, and I was just wondering how Guild Wars works with dual monitors.

It will not play on two monitors at all. Plays on your main and let's you surf on the other...quite handy

It's how you set them up. I believe that you CAN run it on two monitors.

Either.

A lot of people do exactly what you want - run GW on the main monitor (presumably in windowed mode) and Firefox on the other.

It'll only take up one and leave the other one free to do whatever. I did this awhile ago... it's pretty cool i guess. I remember trying to use the windowed version and stretch it across two screens, but i can't remember if it worked or not... this was a long time ago

You can do both depending on the dual monitor setup you use.

You can clone, extend or stretch your display.

Cloning makes both monitors display the exact same thing, so the game will appear as whole on each screen.

extending gives you a whole second desktop area without a taskbar to launch apps on. This is the best for running the game on one display and a web browser etc on the other.

Stretching can be done either horizontally or vertically and basically uses the two monitors as a single display. This will make one half of the game screen appear on one monitor and the other half appear on the 2nd monitor. Your displays will share a widescreen resolution.

Stretching doesn't work very well if each monitor/TV is of a different size though.

Tech savvy, eh? I'll disagree with that due to the simple fact you can get a proper 8600GT(aka one with the proper ddr3) for the same price as that and get about 2x the performance.

Nooooo....

Ok, too late anyways.

That card will work with Dual Monitors anyways. But I'd prefer a card (like the 8600GT) that has Dual DVI Ports, so that I can run both monitors through a DVI connection without any pesky converters and such, plus DVI is better IMO. (But on the bright side it has one DVI port, better than none!).

Stretch option works just fine, then when you in game you can pick a resolution like 2880 x 900. It look pretty good, and the expand of the view on the side is rather impressive. Although this is depend on the what type of the monitor you're using.

Because when you put 2 widescreen monitors next to each other, the monitor's frame will block the view of your toon. Unless you get one of this baby, Alienware 2880x900 Monitor.

This was the only relevant answer. There are a couple other alternatives, however, nuff said. Good job on offering good advice, even if they ignored it afterward.

A single nvidia card is capable of dual display already, but two is better than one as they'd say. For the triple monitors display, you'll definitely need 2 cards.

I run dual monitors... I set it up to play games over both screens once but honestly i don't recommend it because you lose a great deal of height in your gameplay. Even widescreen i'm finding bad enough. It's kind of cool for a little while, but then it gets vaguely annoying, especially since views are centred, which is exactly where dual screens meet. If you have three screens that isn't so much of a problem, but honestly, if you can afford three screens there's no reason why you couldn't afford just 1 ENORMOUS monitor which would play better, and look better anyway.

That's a good point - it would be running at a 32:10 aspect ratio. Slightly better if you run two 4:3 monitors - about 27:10. Still a stretch.

What you really need is FOUR monitors set as a 2x2 video wall - retain your aspect ratio that way ^^
