Default ATI Radeon Xpress 200

Hi there,

First off, I haven't even played Guild Wars on my computer but I plan to get it soon and I was wondering if an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 video card would be enough to play without any graphics issues. If you need any other info on my computer, just ask. I already know the minimum and recommended system requirements and their video cards.

Thank you.

By the way, nice site. Very organized.

Its integrated graphics = shares memory with your actual RAM. Should run GW on low settings.

if its the radeon xpress 200m i have, then it has 128 dedicated memory, and runs GW fine on lower settings.

you should be able to run it, don't expect much from it though.

I have this chipset on my pc. GW will run but you have to have the graphics set on the lowest setting in order for it to run smoothly. I am currently using it now while waiting for my new graphics card to come in the mail.

Used to use that card before I got a dedicated one. It used to run it on absolute low settings anywhere from 10 to 40 fps, average probably about 20 or 25.

High settings pretty much killed it though.

Thanks for all your answers, guys. Much appreciated. I just discoverd something that I would like to clarify:

x300
x600
x800
x800GTO
x800GT

Do those "x"s stand for Xpress? Or something else? I'm so newby when it comes to all this.

well, the X series from ATI was their first series of cards available in PCI-E(xpress). so yes, i believe that's correct.

ATI have used an X prefix for a while. I have an X800 from circa 2004, which is thoroughly AGP.

Yes, but the chipset was designed to be used with PCI-e and had to have extra interfacing to run on AGP. (Which is why the AGP versions cost more.)

I am getting an Nvidia chipset XFX 8600 GT from newegg for about $67 after rebate. I did have ATI X850Xgt in it but had a lot of problems with fan speeds and overheating. It finally blew out on me last week. Decided to go with Nvidia this time and see how it works.
This is the one I am getting on Monday

I also am getting this fan to help with PC temps
