I doubt Anet will ever implement this suggestion simply because only a small minority of players use the keyboard. The majority of GW players would not support the development costs for a small minority.

I have had a G15 since they first came out and I cannot honestly see me using any other keyboard for a long time to come. Even though I have managed to kill one with coffee and my mate managed to kill my replacement with another coffee the very next day I had a new G15, they are just so superior to other keyboards.

There was a GW app being written by a guy on the G15 Mods . com site a while ago but he was informed that at the time it was against the EULA which I think we all agree kind of sucks.

Petition totally signed !!

I used that keyboard on a mates PC at a lan, it is a GREAT FPS keyboard but all the standard keys are really squished in and makes it VERY difficult to type properly, and BTW /signed.

I'm guessing you have never heard that ArenaNet will ban you for using third party programs with Guild Wars?

The point of this thread is not that there are already 3rd party apps for GW that work with the G15 nor is it for people who think they are clever to make asinine comments. Rather the thread is a petition to Anet to impliment a G15 ( or any other keyboard with LCD Screen for that matter ) compatible feature into the GW application just like say " Ventrillo " have.

While I am sure that I speak for the other posters of this tread that we have indeed heard of " Google " I'm guessing that you have not heard of " Reading the thread !! "

Have you actually figured out yet what you'd want to have displayed on the G15's LCD?

I see no link to the file there anywhere. I wouldnt try it anyway because its 3rd party. If we keep bumping this, maybe gaile will consider it.

this is the reason why i bought the G11 instead of the G15, the G11 is exactly the same, though it does not have a lcd screen, and since guild wars does not do anything with this screen, why pay more?

1) u have to be registered on the forums
2) its bug free i have checked it thougherly
3) your not using it with gw, your using it with ur keyboard
4) the g-button macros are NOT against the eula (as someone posted earlier)
5) whats displayed on teh lcd basically means u can turn off about 5 or 6 interface options.

There's been some confusion about whether or not making an applet for the LCD panel will get you banned from Guild Wars. The general rule of thumb is that if the applet gives you an unfair advantage over other gamers or shows you information you were never intended to see (which might give you an unfair advantage), then it will get you banned.

According to this, displaying the standard character info (health, energy, target name, level, etc.) is probably legit. Apparently, there was a WoW mod out there that allowed you to see when an enemy was casting a hostile spell (as well as what that spell was) against you. Since that would certainly be giving you an unfair advantage over other players, that kind of applet would certainly get you punished.

There's a ton of simple, easy functions the G15 LCD keyboard could do if given then time for it. Even if it was something as simple as chat output, character info., quest info., etc., it would be greatly appreciated. However, it does seem like what a lot of people here were saying: it would be a significant effort applied to an insignificant group of players, in short, a waste of their time. But we sure would love them for it!

I totally agree with this, nicely said, i just have my G15 keyboard and i gotta say it is the best i have ever had, just so smooth.

Anyway i would love to see the lcd gets supported for GW, i've read the whole thread, and noticed some people saying something like, "you never look at your keyboard when playing" well many people do and with a keyboard like the G15, you alway's see the display and thus it could be very usefull with support for GW to display some basic info, that you still need to know but not necessarely need on your monitor.

/signed, but not entirely sure what they would implement on the screen that I couldn't access from the gaming interface in about a tenth of a second. Would still be cool though. XD

Now hold on a min about the "Macro ordeal." I've played Lineage II, and in game they allow for people to make there own macro. Example "Casting a ton of Buffs." What isn't allowed are macro's that make the player run PURELY automatic! (Target Selected, Player Attacks, Target Dies, Repeat)

"They Do not support the Rinse Lather Repeat Method" aka BOTS!

/signed - Love using the G15 and would be handy to have info on the LCD like how much gold your carrying, health, energy, adrenaline etc.
