The only reason I know of GW running via dx8 is if it is specifically told to do so by running with the -dx8 switch. Very odd.

As a matter of interest, have you tried forcing your monitor to run at 60Hz? Probably nothing to do with it, but who knows

(By the way, there is no -dx9 switch. Dx9 is default, so there is no need for a switch.)

GW should be running dx9 by default. do you have any other games? if yes, do they run in dx9?

the GMA 3100 does support dx9. i have no idea why GW runs in dx8.

as a last resort, you can try 3Danalyzer. google it and download, and run it with these settings:

Removing the -dx8 switch will run GW in DirectX9/10. How exactly do you know GW is running in DirectX8?

he doesn't use the -dx8 tag. gw is running in dx8 by default for him. you can check it if you go to the graphics tab in your options window.

I contacted Intel regarding this issue. According to the tech I spoke with, they have no known issues on this. He is going to look into it for me, but if he can't replicate the issue, then you might have to try some really round about solutions.

Remove DirectX completely. You can remove it with this tool (never used it myself but it's free) http://www.softpedia.com/get/Securit...adicator.shtml Then reinstall DirectX 9.0c from the microsoft site.
