Talk to your network and not randy kids on GWG who can't do anything to help you?

It's a "big weekend" for Anet. Their Cantha event thing. It's to be expected.

Call your ISP? There's really nothing else anyone can do for you.

If this has been happening for weeks now, then I would suggest that you call you ISP and have them deal with the issue. You might also want to run a trace to ANET to see if something on the way there is hanging up.

You can use the diagnostics tool inside the game to do so. Simple as that. Hope you can find a remedy for this, it can be frustrating.

Are you connecting wirelessly or directly to a modem (through a cable)?

Are you completely loosing Internet connection or just being disconnected from Guild Wars?

Lets go through the basics first.

Do you use wireless?
Do you use a Router (network device so more then 1 computer has internet in a household)
Do you use any other programs that require an internet connection? (MSN, Torrent Client, IRC)
Do you use a firewall?
Have you searched your computer for virusses or anything else nasty?
What server do you play? (Europe, America or Asia)
Does this happen to Guild Wars only?

The not so basic stuff:
Are your Router ports configured properly?
Are you doing anything specific when the lag/dc occurs? (PvP or PvE)

The ISP can go thru your connection with you on the phone. They will assist you in ping tests, modem checks, and also reset IP addresses and connections all from the phone. They can watch your machine from there side and see how it’s performing. Just tell them you what is wrong and sit down for awhile with them on the phone.
