Default The right computer?

Will Guild Wars run on just a regular computer? I basically want to know if it will have lag or not. I have just a regular ole laptop and a regular ole computer. Will GW run, without lag, on both computers?

We will need to know: video card, memory, connection speed at a minimum.

Then we will be more than happy to offer our opinions.

*edit* also, there is a technicians corner forum now, that may be better equipped to handle this question.

When the weather is nice, I play GW on a 3 year old laptop. It works as long as I don't put the graphics too high. Strangely enough, I have less lag on my laptop then on my über gaming PC... probably need to kick my router again or something...

Adding to this, I found this:

What are the system requirements for Guild Wars?

Minimum System Specs:

* Windows XP/2000/ME/98
* Intel Pentium III 800 Mhz or equivalent
* 256 MB RAM
* CD-ROM Drive
* 2 GB Available HDD Space
* ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce 3 or 4 MX Series Video Card with 32MB of VRAM
* 16-bit Sound Card
* Internet connection
* Keyboard and mouse

Recommended System Specs:

* Windows XP/2000/ME/98
* Intel Pentium III 1GHz or equivalent
* 512 MB RAM
* CD-ROM Drive
* 2 GB Available HDD Space
* ATI Radeon 9000 or GeForce 4 Ti Series Video Card with 64MB of VRAM
* 16-bit Sound Card
* Internet connection
* Keyboard and mouse

GW is 3 years old, so it will run very well on an 'avg' system from that time period..... which means an 'avg' pc today will smoke it :d

well, it depends on what you consider the "average pc".

it's generally a good idea to check if your graphics card meets (or exceeds) the requirement, since that's the biggest determinant of its performance.

How do you check your video graphics card on a laptop and a desktop? I think I know how to do it on my desktop, but I have no idea on my laptop....
