Default Any replies from A.Net/PlayNC in regards to GW's Locking Up?

It seems quite a lot of us are experiencing game freezing since the start of the Dragon Festival. I'm sure we have all sent emails and error reports about this. I would like to know if anyone has a reply from them yet, and what they have said.

I thought it was my hardware and I was alone with this problem but this happened to others too? This is extremely annoying in gvgs when it lasts 30secs, sometimes forcing to close the game.

My game also locked up when I was doing a mission.
At a certain point the screen froze and I couldn't ALT+TAB out.
It could be my computer, but I have never experienced such a lock-up before.

It's not your computer. There has been a lot of tests done with hardware and software/driver updating on this issue, all with negative results. Reinstalling the game and updating doesn't seem to work either.

There have been numerous threads about this over the past few days.

Most of it has to do with the festival and the extreme network load associated with it. I logged in to Shing Jea and was in district 165, so you know there's a lot more people on than usual.

But to answer your original question, there has been no word from Anet about this. Since it's a network issue related to the weekend even (more than likely), I doubt there will be any.

If anyone continues to have problems in the coming days, please search the forums before posting, as many of you seem to be having the same type of problems. We'll all be glad to help in any way we can.

Guild Wars was fine untill the Dragon Festival. Now I am getting lockups like crazy. I even formated my computer because I thought that was the problem (no worries only Guild Wars was on Bootcamp on my macbook pro). I started thinking my mac is dying (its only 5 months old from apple store) until I saw this post. Anet please fix the freeze up. No reply from Anet

i had a lock up this morning while in CoF, i was UNable to ctrl+alt+delete out and had to shut down my PC via the power button and reboot, i was able to rejoin where i left off. this is the second time this has happened to me in the last 2 weeks. the first time i was able to crtl+alt+delete out of it. i have changed nothing in my PC's specs or updated any software, including windows up dates and my system specs are as follow , dell p4 2.8 1.5g ram pc2700 radeon 9550 256mb 80 gig hdd wd 7200rpm. this machine has worked flawlessly for over 3 years. i hope this helps.

That's fine Dogmire, you can post a new thread if you'd like your problem looked at. There are a few other threads that are active right now about network issue, so please check those before posting a new thread. It saves space on the server, and keeps things a little neater around here.

Thanks!

Wow, I'm glad it isn't just me.

I went three years without having an error 007 or being disconnected, and since the Dragon Festival I've had eight disconnects. One forced my guild to forfeit an AT.

LAME.

It's ok, Dogmire, it's no problem at all. If there's new issues, generally a new thread is opened to cover them. Unless you're having exactly the same problem as someone else, it's normally ok to open another thread.

Since this thread has to do with Anet's response to the issues, and not the technical aspects related to the problem and the fix for the issue, it would be ok for you to post another thread if you've searched and no other thread about the issue is open.

If a Technician or a mod closes a thread that you've opened, or makes a comment on how a thread is not needed, etc. please don't take offense. We're here to help, and will do everything in our power to make sure your issue is resolved.

Welcome to the forums. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. We don't bite.

Set GW's processor affinity to one core.

Also, check through the other threads before posting something like this. There have been numerous problems that have had the same symptoms as yours, and the same solutions will be suggested to you as were to them.

Please use search, as it will cut down the number of repeat threads we have.

Thanks!
