Your antivirus and firewall are set to allow guidwars in/out freely? You have the correct ports open?

When you redownloaded the .dat file did you run the -image switch?

Have you gotten the updates from M$ up to date?

2) No, I didin't.

3) Yeah. I have unistalled sp3 because of my own reasons (gw didn't work with sp3 either).

Okay, so I rad 3dmark06 and checked the temps:
core #0 37C (at highest point)
core #1 42C (at highest point)
graphics 54C (at highest point)
HDD 29C

temps look good.

1. If you are using a firewall, make sure GW.EXE and GWSETUP.EXE is added to your firewall's exception list. If you are unsure of how to do this, please check the website of your firewall provider for instructions. If you have already allowed your firewall to run Guild Wars in the past, please double check the exceptions. There is a possibility that Guild Wars may have been added to the block list after the client was patched.

2. If you are using a router, make sure both TCP port 6112 and TCP port 80 are opened within their settings. Updating your router's firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's website may also help.

make sure you do those things and open those ports on the firewall as well.

Okay, I added GW.exe to the trusted ones (idk if it was there already).

Im having troubles with the second thing... I have absolutely no idea how to do that. I have zyXEl 600 prestige series 'modem'. Im not quite sure (lol) if it's a modem or router or what... I'm such a newbie at these things.

It really needs to be done in your firewalls. ON the router only if you have 1, that you can control the ports on.

Also if you right click the GW icon> properties in the line that ia after target add in a [space] then -image. EXAMPLE: "c:/programfiles/guildwars/GW.DAT" -image

It calls up a-nets server and downloads all the patchs at 1 time. Since you did not run this at reinstall the game may have been trying to download a ton of files and you just thought it was frozen or this could be causing a freeze.

Oh god...

Try "password" and "admin"

If these don't work, try going to your router manufacturer's site and searching for info.

Default for routers is always unless specified otherwise by your isp.
Password: admin
Logon: admin
Also with some routers you don't need to enter a password if you connect to the router with a cable (and not wireless).

Yup. The slower your download speed, the longer it's going to take. You will be glad you did, though. None of that annoying downloading everytime you enter a new area or outpost.

If you ever get the damn thing to work, of course.

Why did you choose that particular näytönohjain? (hehe - Google rocks )

Ahhh... Got the -image thing done, with my 500kb/s it was pretty quick
Got the ports made also.

Now, guess what? When I open GW, that downloading screen comes up, shows 0%, and then closes, but GW doesn't open. :E

Answer to your question: Couple of my friends recommended that for Neverwinter nights playing, and also it was kinda cheap so it's good for me. No practicular reason.

Sooo.. I thought that I should remove the -image, I did and opened GW and fronze AGAIN! FFS....

E: OOOLEEE! I sucsesfully downloaded the 169 drivers AND GW OPENED! Ohhhyes... Now lets just see if it freezez more...

E3: After about 10-20mins of play, everything froze again.. I was playing windowed mode. Well, some progress, I can open GW now...
