she RARELY posts in ANY topic...I understand she is new, but that is getting kinda thin as an excuse now (its been what 3+ months now...most employers expect you to be able to do you job in that amount of time or you get the ax).

anyways this thread is about lag....not how we feel about regina the invisible cr.

lag is ok today.

I did experience this lag when doing the bonus of Sanctum Cay HM. My worst was 21k ping. I was D/Cing nonstop but luckily I never lost my place and was able to reconnect everytime (whoo-hoo ;\) only to d/c again and reconnect again and again and again until I was finally able to at least move a step again only to lag horribly but I still managed the bonus.

I get lag every now and then where I run past the same place several times, or I find myself teleported back to a bit I walked past 1 minute before, luckily it's never happened during a quest or mission, but I can imagine it being a royal pain if it did

Yeah, I wish it would stop lagging so you could give me my 65k.

So what, after a day of the servers being normal again there's absolutely no news from aNet whatsoever on the lag? Not that I was expecting any, but still... a single "We're sorry" would suffice. At the very least, it would show aNet noticed the problem at all.

Asking the support will grant you with the usual answer that there is a problem with the connection between two sets of servers in America and Germany and it is the providers fault. Again.

normal? is that some cruel joke? Unless I misinterpreted your post I'm pretty sure it's far from normal:

On Friday and Saturday, there were network problems between the data centers in LA and Germany. We were not doing any scheduled maintenance on our game servers. The Error 40 is caused when game servers in Europe are unable to connect to the database cache in the US and the routes that server traffic takes between the data centers are congested or have high packet loss. This was affecting players in Europe. We did not have any scheduled maintenance during the weekend. We are investigating whether the problem was on the side of our network providers/ISPs. Apparently, City of Heroes experienced similar problems over the weekend as well. --Regina Buenaobra Image:User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 15:40, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
that was taken from Reg's discussion page on wiki. Just in case you were curious about some of the details on the lag issue.

Yeah, it was really annoying. At one point I got like 70k ping, so I finally decided to call it a night. -_-

OF COURSE problem was on their side. It's impossible that few hundreds or thousands of players got a problem on the same time, same moment and... you probably don't even know how mAT's were looking like ;d

I sent a ticket in and of course I have to follow the test your computer and post a NetworkDiag.log . Curses I ran it yesturday and should have sent the log on Sunday.

I have 007 and have load stall issues. All Started on Sunday (Saturday slow and laggy but PVE was playable and no 007) Got past the Character load screen only twice all day.

From the 50k pings I was getting this would be an upgrade for me

sorry having to read anything posted from another site that is NOT a forum like a wiki page like that makes me so angry (need a few anger management classes I feel).
however, we are no closer to finding out anything, and no one is willing to post HERE what was going on this weekend.
(I think I can say that anet can kiss any more $ from me bye-bye)....

The person in charge of our servers is currently meeting with the technical departments involved and will give me an update on this situation as soon as those meetings are over and he has had time to compose a report. I'll update this thread when I have more information.

You have no idea how networks operate do you? There isn't only "Their side" and "your side", there are many, many gates in between. That doesn't mean they shouldnt do anything.

Well, it's not like the players got their routers fromm $0.99 stores. It certainly wasn't the player's fault.
