Default Downgrading?

Say I put a grip on a bow, ie upgraded it. Is it possible, at all, to remove that grip and put it somewhere else?

Use an expert salvage kit on the upgraded bow and you might get the upgrade item back out of it... at least I think so.

Regardless, if there IS any way to do it, that would be the only one.
Someone told me there is a chance to get the item back when you salvage what you used it on, but that it wasn't a very good chance. I havn't tried it myself... but it seems perfectly reasonable. You get the upgrade item by salvaging an item with that property, so it's reasonable to think that you would get the upgrade item again if you salvaged an item with that property, even if the property was added to the item instead of starting out on the item.
