Default SP3 won't install

Blah, stupid Windows.

:F I have currently SP2 on my XP (home). I've been trying to install SP3 for ages now.

At first there was an error complaining something about atapi.sys. After a quick googlnig I found out it was caused by Daemon Tools. I then removed DT and the error no longer appears.

When the install has gone up to 50%, the installation fails and popup "Access Denied" pops us. I had my virus software and firewall turned off, so can't figure what could cause this anymore.

Pardon my english, don't really feel like paying too much attention to grammar.

Already tried ALL those things. I did google before making this thread. So bad trolling.

What I've done:
Tried to install via Windows update
Downloaded SP3 from microsoft's download center
Turned off firewall and those two again
Booted computer 9001 times and repeat everything above
Tried to run that script thing

As I already mentioned, that script thing isn't working. Dunno why. Halp. :'c

dunno wut to say

try these
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10302726
http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/PC_Cleanup

if that still doesnt work
and sp3 is really -that- important to u
the last thing i can recommend would be doin a clean install of windows xp
perhaps wit sp3 slipstreamed
(i use http://www.nliteos.com/ )

edit: for further explanation...
its basically a modified windows xp install that has sp3 already integrated into it

I wouldn't touch nLite or vLite for that matter. What those applications do simply cripples your Windows install and they always cause some sort of problem.

Get Dial-a-fix and also run sfc /scannow

Guess I'm going to do what Tarun said. If they won't work, I'll probably just give up. Thanks anyways
