Default Microsoft Security Essentials?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has given this a try yet? I've grown tired of AVG moaning at my to buy their full product.

So its a toss between Microsoft Security Essentials or aVast! for me.

But I was wondering if anyone has give Microsoft Security Essentials a try yet.

it's pretty good so far. uses very little resources, unobtrusive, does everything automatically. it's basically what you want in your basic antivirus/antimalware software.

I can't say anything good or bad about MS Essentials (although I've heard mostly good about it), as I haven't tried it, I personally use Avast on every computer I work on and haven't had a single problem in 2+ years. It's reliable and has a relatively small footprint.... and no obnoxious reminders either.

It's been great so far. Detected a trojan which AVG 9 didn't as soon as I installed it. It also doesn't declare Texmod as malicious either which is useful. I love it but I certainly wouldn't suggest it to anyone that isn't aware of the dangers on the internet or isn't a very "wise" internet browser.

This. Except for "very little resources": 50Mb in background compared with Avira AntiVir which is only a mere 10Mb, and in my limited memory (512Mb) it really makes the difference sometimes.
