When switching zones, fraps stops recording automatically. I do not know a reason for this, but it definitely is a confliction between GW coding and Fraps coding.

This is not something that can be fixed. To avoid it, stop recording just as you are about to enter a zone.

Yes that is one solution but when I'm in a party with friends it's hard for everyone to remember not to walk through a portal without telling me to stop recording ;-)

I have contacted Fraps support and they have responded. I'll see if they can help.

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE! BY CONTACTING FRAPS SUPPORT (+1 FOR THEM) THEY HAVE NOW IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AND IN A FEW DAYS A 3.1.2 VERSION OF FRAPS WITH A FIX TO THIS WILL BE RELEASED!

Lol, you beat me to it!! The Fraps guys let me test the beta version of the next release and it works great!! No more lock ups during the loading screens. They said this new version should be released to the public by the end of the week. As floor69 said, Way to go Fraps support!!

I don't know if it's just in GW but when you over-record videos with Fraps, thus running out of space, Fraps crashes and you can't alt-tab back to GW.
