Default Guildwars Not loading

hey guys I logged into guildwars a few weeks ago to get my present and decided I was gonna play a little more but now everytime i go to play the game that normal gray box that loads the game pops up but stays at 0% and when i leave it there, after about 3-5 minutes it goes to 100% and the log in screen comes up like normal. Then when i hit log in a connecting message comes up and stays for about a minute or two and then says cannot connect and that it is likely a routing error but my internet works fine and I even shut the firewall off and tried to no avail. Any ideas?

Have you tried running GW with the -image command? since it has been a few weeks and there have been updates, the game client could be getting stuck because you don't have all the updates. Using -image will ensure you have all the updates.

Is your firewall a 3rd party firewall? If so, did you also check if Windows Firewall was on? If it was on, try disabling both firewalls... also, do you have any Anti-virus programs running? try disabling them.

Have you tried defragging your HD?

Have you checked your computer for spyware? malware? viruses?

Try downloading, installing and running CCleaner(http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner). That might help..

You could always try resetting your winsock in-case it's causing issue's... to do this:

- click Start
- Go All Programs, Accessories -> Command Prompt
-- Run this
-- If your in Vista or Windows 7, right-click and select "Run as Administrator" instead of just clicking on it
- In the black dosbox, type following:

netsh winsock reset {press enter}

And if in Vista/Win7 type this also:

netsh int ip reset {press enter}

Reboot the computer and try logging into GW again.

I tried a defrag i reset winsock settings, I only use windows firewall and thats the one i disabled. I use the image command and I ran it just before the problem started. It only updated a couple things as I use it frequently. I ran the image command and it worked fine but then the problem started immediatly after and I could no longer run the image command or connect to GW as it never connected to Anet.

In that case, it's likely a routing error.

And it will probably clear itself up after a while.
