Default Help needed xp to win 7

Hi people, today i upgraded to windows 7 on my xp machine without reading into it, i just stuck the disk in the drive and installed it. The problem is all my xp files and software is now been placed in a Windows old file on my c drive and i cant run any of them.
Is there anyway put the old xp files onto my windows 7 or convert them in some way, because i have stuff like office 07 on my xp which i now cannot use either.
Or any other suggestions would be great and much appreciated.
thx

for applications, just reinstall them. for files, copy out of the windows.old folder.

you will still need to install the applications that you had on XP, any documents etc should be fully accessible though.
