Default Recording Guild Wars videos

I've seen some Guild Wars videos on Youtube, many of which have been very helpful. I'm not an expert in recording video, so are there any good software packages that can be used to record what's going on in my Guild Wars window and saving it to a video file?

From there, I can handle it, but I'm just not sure what the best way to make that first step happen would be.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Not affiliated. I've never used it with GW but I hear it works.

Also, search works: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...t=record+video

Two of the most popular video recording software programs that I know of and have personally used are:

Fraps
GameCam

I have made several videos using both programs. Very great and easy to use.

Neither one is free, but they both have trial versions. Fraps trial has a ridiculous 30 second recording limit, and GameCam trial has a watermark.

MisterB is correct. Both of them have a Trial Version which you can at least see if you like them. I have full licenses to both. I believe Fraps did have a 30 second limit for the Trial but you could do audio. GameCam's trial if I remember correctly had a much longer time limit (if any) but didn't provide audio and had the watermark. Of course those restrictions would be lifted if you purchased the full version. If you are making some GW video and doing some type of editing and added your own personal music or whatever, its nothing to worry about. The watermark on GameCam is nothing huge. If you go to Youtube, I am sure you will see videos with the watermark and will see its not a deal breaker. You can try them out if you want. Personally, I think the small fee for the full versions are worth it.

One that you might also want to check out, that I never got around to is Taksi.
http://taksi.sourceforge.net/
It's Free and Open Source. I have talked to a few people that said they really liked it but haven't gone into more detail than that.

Lastly, if none of those floats your boat, I would just head over to Download.com ( http://download.cnet.com/windows/) and see what they may have. I hope this helps.
