"Can you run it?" says GW runs fine, it doesn't
Im using the trial version, does this have any influence? Is the trial version always streaming? Because upon starting it downloaded a big chunk of data, I would swear that was the whole game. Any advice?

The trial version is the whole game - only your license to use it is limited. As you've surmised, it is constantly streaming, which it will continue to do until the entire gw.dat is complete - somewhere around 4GB.
You can download the whole thing in one session by using the -image switch. Quickest way for a one-off is just to run it as a command: Code:
"c:\Program Files\Guild Wars\gw.exe" -image
