I can't see touch-screens replacing mouse + keyboard for gaming any time soon, except for things on the level of Tetris or Angry Birds.
Maybe, if you plugged a game console type controller into a tablet, it might approach usable, but then it wouldn't be using touch either.

Just imagine trying to play GW1 or 2 on a touchscreen tablet. You'd basically have to use both hands, while simultaneously trying to hold it in position where you can see it properly. *Shudder*
Edit - plus having your hands blocking the much of the screen.

There could be some nice things about using touch controls to select a game and start it up, etc, but you are going to want something better than touch controls to actually play any serious game.

If its mobile its not "meant" to stay at your home. Either way, Windows 8 is an OS that is suited for people on the go. Which, I already discussed earlier.

Windows 8 is worthless if you are going to install it on your keyboard and mouse computer.

Let me explain what I hope this guy means. Windows 8's touch features would be worthless if you are going to install it on a keyboard and mouse computer without a touch screen. (which is kinda 'duh' )
Windows 8 is just the next version of Windows, it's not a separate version that won't work on older systems. There are apparently SKUs of the system that will be compiled to work on ARM cpus and/or tablets, etc, but they will all be just varieties of Windows 8.
This is not new - there was, for example, a version of Windows XP which was compiled to run on Itanium CPUs. And, Windows NT was compiled for several different systems.
Just like most computers come with some flavour of Windows 7 today, computers will come with Windows 8 tomorrow.
Also, of course, things like this:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...1b148b1 8en02
are already available and a perfect candidate for windows 8

Windows 8 is worthless if you are going to install it on your keyboard and mouse computer.
What gives you the right to say that? Have you tested it? have you EVEN tried it? Have you read the developer blog or windows team blog? Do you keep a track on technology?

Your opinion has become worthless the moment you started hating.

Let me tell you the truth - I'm older than you. I've used both MacOS and Windows. I consider myself a poweruser. I read blogs and watch technology podcasts. I have downloaded the Windows 8 Consumer Preview the very night it went live and have used it since then. And I'm actually fond of the experience.

Your problem is, you base what you're writing (I won't call it your opinion, because you clearly don't have one) on few looks from outside, probably some poor quality article. You can't call something worthless jut because you think so, especially if you have NO CLUE about the object of the debate.

And for goodness sake - it's a beta version.

Leman I don't hate the product. I said It's worthless on keyboard and mouse computer meaning its good on tablets, touch type devices. I have read all the pros and cons and what I find it is not that great on keyboard and mouse devices, since there are some navigational issues. However, it is just fine on touch-type devices since all settings are preset for it.

If you want to change settings on your computer (Keyboard and mouse) it is quite difficult to navigate. However, like you said it is only a beta, whether they fix it or not its up to them. I am just discussing what is going on now.

AND PEOPLE PLEASE IT MAY SOUND LIKE I AM HATING ON THE PROGRAM, BUT I AM NOT. I AM JUST TRYING TO BE PRAGMATIC WITH THE PROGRAM. AI CARAMBA!

Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Enterprise... not for business, aimed solely at consumers... you're not hatin' just being pragmatic.

FUD. RDF to full effect!
