The Programm don't wanna start 2x GW anymore?! I have Vista. A few days ago it worked very well, but now? Update fixed it? Dunno =X

I have a "GUILD WARS" and a "GUILD WARZ" thing with the exes in it.

Still works for me. I quit GW 2 months ago went to a much better game Perfect World INT. But I did update and reloaded GWx2 just like how Ive said to do it in my notes on the first page and it works fine. You missed something like forgetting to update your second client by copying the gw.exe.

I'm trying to get this work but every thing i try ends up with the I/O error 32.

Whats that error about?

edit: I downloaded the older version from filefront.

I use a diffrent method of running 2 GWs and I don't need any aditional programs to do so :P No ideea if any1 else mentioned it so sorry if I will say it again.
Just copy the whole GW directory to a diffrent location, so that now u have 2 copyes of it. Make another user in windows. Start the first GW from the original location then go to Log Off->Switch User, log on to the second user, open GW from the new location and taaa-daaa! all done

Might not be always convenient to switch between users, but at least u can switch stuff between accounts.
Also noticed that after an update I had to recopy GW for this to still work.

Snog- Im begining to think a lot of people are getting download problems through there service for unknown reasons. It works for me too. So the only thing i can think of is for them is to go through and clean there computers lol.

Funny! Been running it for more than a year without any problems. Today it suddenly stopped working. So I reinstalled it, deleted and copied the folder again ... did everything again ... did everything it a third time just to make sure. It still did not want to open more than one copy.
Finally tried the "old link" - worked straight away!

Almost 2 hours of my life gone with no clue as to what was wrong.

I uploaded it, so I can guarantee its authenticity. My guineapig (Yang) said that it insisted he use Internet Explorer, but I can d/l using Firefox 3.1b2 no problem. I'm not sure if you can d/l without their annoying download manager though...

I just downloaded this last night and I tried to use it but it is not working. I Get both windows to pop up and i can log into one of them but when i try to log into the second one it logs in and kicks me out of the first one. What should i do?

You cant download it without the manager sorry Snog. Thats why I put mine on filefront. So people wouldnt need to put anything extra into the computers.

Meh, though as much. Only reason I use FilePlanet is that I subscribed to IGN or a subsidiary in order to get onto a beta - so I get the "advanced" features.

Anyone who wants to try, the Download Manager isn't that bad - and some of you may have it already. You can always uninstall it afterwards

You should be using 2 different GW accounts, not the same one. This app is for running 2 GW windows on one PC, but you cannot use the same GW account. You get logged out like you describe.

OK, Finally solved a problem i was having as well as some others on the forums but no one had posted a solution that I could find. Wasted 2 hours of my life so that you dont have to. I have used gwx2 forever on desktop, just got new laptop that uses vista. It would not open the second client. Kept telling me lies such as the gw.dat file in the second folder did not have permission to be opened when I was clearly yelling at the computer to OPEN THE DAM FILE! I could not even run gw.exe in the copied folder as a stand alone app. The original folder gw.exe ran fine.

Here is how I fixed the vista problem. Go to the copied folder. Right click on gw.exe and select properties. Then tab over until you see the box that says run as admistrator. Check that box, hit apply, and ok. Then do the same thing to gwx2.exe so that it also runs as admistrator.

Works great now in vista just like it does on my desktop. ..... still dont like vista... like xp better.... grrrrrrrrrr.

I was able to download the file fine, however I am still unable to run both clients at the same time. I even rebuilt the entire setup, one client only. Launch one then tried to launch the other using gwx2, failed to launch.
