Doesn't work for me.

Yes, I read this thread and went though all that minimizing crap. There wasn't even an update involved... just downloaded GWx2, followed the guide, doesn't work.

Hate to say but I think you missed a step somewhere.Almost everyone does its not that big of a deal. Some people have issue with the main sites version.
So which version did you get and write down the steps you did, and We'll try to help you.

Default gwx3!

has anybody managed to modify gwx2 to gwx3?

would love to be able to run 3 copies at a time!
(currently going for LDoA on a couple of accounts! deathlvling is boring without a spare version of guild wars to play on )

If not has anyone got any pointers I could use to hack myself together such a patch? I have *some* programming experience

Cheers.

well when i use .rar to unzip files for my Guitar pro, and i close the .rar window i get a msg from GP saying file not found. But when i keep the .rar window open all is fine. So maybe you are having the same problem. Btw .rar is just another program to zip/unzip files

.rar is a type of archive, not a program. Presumably you are talking about WinRar.

As a test, I just downloaded gwx2_4.1 from http://gwx2.co.nr/ then un-rar'd it and it worked fine. Can't really guess what your problem is, Disasta - unless you're saying it can't find the gw executable, which is a whole different problem and is discussed in the thread Age mentioned.

You referring to this guide: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...ars-id1837.php
...or the GWx2 program (which does it for you)
and also, when you say it minimizes...this all happens before you reach the login screen right? I think this usually happens b/c your gw2 is directed to the same path as gw1, in the .reg files. (Unless it used to work for you, but doesn't anymore, in which case the was a GW update you may've missed.

Copy your exe file from the original file path (I'm guessing C:\Program Files\Guildwars\Gw.exe) and paste it into the same folder as your GWx2 client. This must be done after every update.

Your problem should be fixed.

The problem I always had was that I always forgot to re-copy the .exe file to the secondary folder after a new update. Try to run your primary gw with -image in the command line. Then copy the .dat to the secondary gw folder. Once that's done, go to your primary gw folder and copy the .exe and paste it into your secondary gw folder. Try it this way and see what happens. I know I had the same problem as you did with the one window shutting down.

Good Luck!

Default 2 clients crash?

Computer Specs:

Windows XP Home
500GB Hard Drive
ATI Radeon 2600 XT (Grap Card)
3GB RAM
Desktop

Edit: I just noticed I am getting 60fps in full screen mode even with 2 clients and only 5fps in windows mode even with 1 client

Ok guys, I used the Registry way to open 2 clients at the same time. Gwx2 did not work for me so I used the Registry way. I followed this dude's guide on youtube and everything is going fine. I open both and put them on minimize. For some reason opening 2 clients at once on same screen is crashing my PC. The game will get very glitchy and then my PC will freeze and it will force me to reboot and do a chkdsk scan at boot. I was bored and got on each one and maximised each one and put one client at one time as the other one was minimised. No lag or nothing.

My FPS with 1 client is 60-70 FPS(with v-sync). 2 clients is about 2-5fps(w/ vsync) which causes my PC to crash. I was going to do 2 clients so I could trade some stuff over for safe storage. Anyone know how to fix this or whats causing the problem?

P.S. One maximised and one minimised, gets me 60 fps. Anyone?

THANKS SO MUCH GURU!

Btw i have a LCD monitor a 24"

Refresh Rate: 60Hz

right?

That makes your screen auto-60 fps when in full-screen.
