Steps to be followed for using GWx2 program-

  1. Download the GWx2 program from:
    • Main Site Download- Link removed - bots are illegal Some users have had problems with this one not working for them for whatever reasons.(I'm gonna see if its been fixed lately so ill test it for everyone.)*( I have now fully tested the one from the main site and it is working good)
    • Backup Downloadl- http://www.mediafire.com/file/d3iqyt5mtz5/GWx2_4.1.zip<--- no bots at this link
      {Latest (4.1) version uploaded by MisterB}
  2. Copy your Guild Wars Folder and then paste it to your desktop. (you dont have to do the whole folder I just prefer it myself,but it doesnt matter)

  3. Rename the Guild Wars folder to example Guild Warz or Guild Wars2

  4. Place the newly named Guild Warz folder back into your C:\Program Files folder.

Now here is where you can make a choice. You can have all the files in the folder or you can go with just having the GW.exe and Gw.dat file in the new GW folder.

First half of the process is finished.

Now for the Second Half-

  1. Unzip the GWx2 rar file to wherever you want or have it downloaded too.
  2. Make a shortcut on your desktop to the GWx2.exe file. (theres a reason for that to be explained a little later)
  3. Run the shortcut you just made and it should bring up a configuration box.

  4. In the secondary client path box point the program to where you're second GW folder is. If you named it like mine and placed it in the program files folder you can copy the configuration box like my picture above.
  5. Then click done in the configuration box. A pop up will ask you if you wish to run both clients. You can click yes, but I suggest you click no for the moment.
  6. Open your GW game normally, and put it in window mode. (There seems to be a problem when you dont have it in window mode when you start both clients up)
  7. Now you can click you're GWx2 shortcut to start and run you're 2 accounts on the same computer.

Hopefully it now it will work for you, as some people have been experiencing problems.

Now, for the reason of making the GWx2 shortcut. For some odd reason, sometimes you may need to re-run the configuration of GWx2. All you have to do is open up the properties of the shortcut and add the following switch to it: -setup

That makes GWx2 to run the configuration again. Look like this

Hope that helps you guys looking to run GWx2 program!

WARNING- This is not my program so I take no responsiblity whatso ever for it. However I do know for a fact where my D/L for it is virus free and free of anything else.

* NOTES *

WARNING
1. After every update you must copy the first GW.EXE file to your second GW folder
2. Also make sure to minimize the windows after you intially update the first one.

Also noticed the new version has been updating both at the same time for me. Not sure if it does for others so if someone has the newer one let me know also.

* NOTES 2 *

If you are having problems this is what you do.

1. After updating your primary account to your secondary account.
2. DO NOT START GWx2
3. Only open your primary account, log-in, walk a few steps.
4. Minimize to windowed view, then X out of the game.
5. Now you may start GWx2

***** IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS AFTER THAT*****

Then you either have a computer problem or you missed a step somewhere.

* NOTES 3 *

1. For those who are scared of my filefont download notice that theres over 167 d/l of it and not one complaint of a keylogger from anyone.
2. You have nothing on your accounts I want that I havent already probably had at one time or another or given away.

This program is 100% legal, but the Drunkard Bot that is also available for download along side it on their official website is illegal and should not be downloaded or used.

When did this law go into effect?....I'm so tired of people saying its illegal, I understand what they mean, but this sounds so ridiculous when its said. Nothing is illegal unless your hacking into the servers ok people.... It's against the EULA. Thats it.

Actually the drunk bot is illegal as Anet has stated that kind of stuff isnt legal by there definition as it is effecting there game. That is for the drunk bot though not GWx2 which is legal. Ill find where it was said for you sometime.

Try to keep this thread to GWx2, please and not legalities of drunk bots though.

I'll keep this in mind in case I ever want to swipe anything from my friend's account!

But then again he's worse than me in GW...

The usual window controls in the top right corner - the middle one that looks like two interlinked boxes.

Mani, I merged the two parts. If you can, clean up some stuff in the post, using bolding to separate numbers etc, list funtion perhaps with bullet pts. If you don't have the time, let me know and I will tidy it up. After that, I will temp sticky this up top until the tech forum is remodeled.

Nope, afraid not. gwx2 is a launcher which launches two gw executables. As far as I can tell, TexMod needs to launch the actual executable it is intercepting graphics calls to, not a launcher that launches said exe.

Oh, and no worries, Mani - I have a bunch of screenies that look much the same as yours

You could add that, in the "parameters" line on the gwx2 setup window, you can add the usual GW command line switches, such as -noshaders, -dx8, -password and the rest.

YES! it is.
You just:
  • start them up once with the gWx2
  • close them.
  • Open up Texmod
  • Lock it on to the one you want "texmodded"
  • run it
  • start the other copy manually

I have edited the guide to tidy it up and make it more easily readable. I will be stickying this for the time being, until the tech forums remodel is complete.

NP, and thanks, I try. Guides must look exceptionally professional and clean, and use spell check (I noticed a few things and fixed em) Firefox has it built in, if you are not using it. Just right clicky and fix it. I use it as I sometimes have a slippage of spelling.
