wierd error
ive been playing guild wars on and off for about 3 years now, and never had any problems with it.

go to your GW folder, find gw.dat, and move it somewhere else.
then, uninstall GW, and reinstall using client downloaded from the internet. once it proceeded to the usual "connecting to arenanet" message appears, close the client, and move your old gw.dat back into the GW folder. make it replace the new file. if the above does not work, run GW with the -image switch, and leave it on overnight. once it's done, remove it and run GW as usual. |

Perhaps your hard drive is full and there's not enough room for gw.tmp? I'm not sure what gw.tmp is, but it may be a temporary copy of gw.dat which would mean you may need as much as 5 gigs free for it to go smoothly.

Try deleting gw.tmp and let the client make the file again(its always does)
then do a -repair. if that doesn't work try using "moriz" method. |

 managed to get it fixed in the end. somehow I managed to lose my administration rights to update that programme (I own the computer and everything) so I had to run as a admin (right click and run as admin).... dunno why this has randomly happened now :Sah well and ty all for your ideas  I had already tried the -image one :P as I always have a shortcut with that rdy :Pand as for the hard-drive being full idea :P I still have about 150gb left xD |
