Hey, Im having problems with some major lags on evenings.
Starting a few days ago when i was playing at the evening, i had a lag spike which sent me well over 4,000ms for a while.
It kept going higher and higher, eventually hitting the 20,000ms mark and just rising from there but stablilzing at that range.
I dont need to tell you the game is completely freaking unplayable at this point, i never even got to see my character moving, just rubberbanding all over my GH. (which was empty btw, which means the problem is not only in heavily populated areas).
Today at noon i logged on to find a completely smooth, lag free game.
Then i logged again at around 6PM, to find that the lag is back. all the sudden the ping is back up to the 5,000ms + mark, and the game is unplayable again.
I'm using a router, but i dont think thats the problem.
It only started a few days ago, during which i didnt change anything in my hardware or software setup.
Things i tried that didnt work:
1. Turning off firewall
2. Dumping the router and connecting the ethernet cable directly to the modem.
3. Defraging GW.dat file using contig.
4. Running a full CCleaner run.
5. Running a full Spyware scan with Ad-Aware.
6. Running a full Virus scan with AVG 7.5.
7. Resetting the modem.
8. Flush DNS.
9. Unticking the QoS packet scheduler in my connections properties.
I also dont think my ISP is the problem.
Download times are usual, the browser works as great as usual, other games work good.
I've ran PingPlotter on the IP Adress of one of the GW servers and it almost immidiatly put out a 'Destionation Unreachable' error.

It has to be something to do with the GW servers and your ISP then. You could try giving them a call, or talking to NCSoft Support. Sadly, I don't think there's anything we can do on your end.

this happens to me too, i was watching one day and as i got a lag spike my GW went from responding to not responding on my task mngr....if this helps....idk how it would but idk
