There are two main types of video card slots. The first of which being AGP, which are found on older computers and the newer being PCI Express. Chances are you have a pci express slot but look at your computer documentation to be sure. If you have neither of these, which is very unlikely, they make older PCI video cards that tend to be more expensive and offer lower performance. Also, when buying a new video card, make sure your power supply has enough wattage to power it.

The higher the MB of Memory that the card has the nicer it can run games on quality wise...

I would suggest a 256 MB card if you are on a tight budget. It will be able to run games Nicely.

If you have a decent budget a 512 MB card will run very nice for what you are wanting.

If you have a very very nice budget anything over 512 MB will be outstanding quality.

Have a nice day.

xungia, the type of memory makes alot of difference: it's very likely a 256mb ddr3 card will outperform a 512mb ddr2 card

you will want to have a look at the ati 38xx series if you're on a tight budget
for 80$ you can get an ati 4670, which has amazing performance for it's price

Yes 4670 is a very nice cheap card.

If you can afford a bit more an ATI HD 4830 or 4850 are great cards for just a bit more.

I'd recommend the 4830, just make sure you have a 6 pin connector available from your PSU or you can use the adapter for two 4 pin molex.
