Curse

I built a new computer today from scratch. After i was done i tried bootng it up. Everything lights up but my screen remains black and nothing shows up. I tried clearing tue cmos but that didnt work either. Here are my specs:

Msi p7n sli mobo
9800gtx+ evga
550watt corsair
4gb dual channel corsair ram
E8400 cpu

Now i tried hooking it up to my tv with dvi but nothing happens when i boot. Not even beeping sounds. Everythng lights up and seems to be working fine. Anyone know what the problem is?

i had Same problem earlier. my cpu was burned..

Did you plug everthing in at once? I:E HDD's DVD, and such? If so take everything out but the essentials, GFX card, primary HDD and so on.

Try and boot, if it still doesn't work there's a good chance something has fried. If it does work now add the rest of your drives and stuff one at a time and see how it goes.

take components out, reinstall them one by one and verify all wires and connections, also, if you get a series of beeps when it tries to boot up, what are they?

ok found the solution. it was the memory. one stick was defected
