Default Friends List Disconnecting

Alright, I'm generally pretty good at troubleshooting this crap, but yeah... maybe some of you can shed some light on this situation for me.

I am running two computers both connected to the internet through a router (Linksys). When I have both computers up and running and logged into GW on both, I will randomly get disconnected from the Friends List deal. It doesn't kick me out of the game completely, only the Friends List part. I have to manually log back in by clicking on the "Reconnect" button in the Friends (N) window.

Am I missing something in the router set up? It is currently set at its default settings, nothing special selected.

Note: If I have one computer on and the other off, I do not have this issue.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks,
Monkness "Nox"

It does this to me sometimes too. Usually when my dad is on his laptop while im on this. I just assume its from him stealing my connection.

This happens to me too, but my connection is never stolen by a fellow internet user in the same household.

Yes, unfortunately, this is server related. The friends network is on a different server system; so when it goes down, the rest of the game in unaffected.

Suffice to say, you just have to log back into the friends server.

However, that being said, you might check ports. Perhaps the Friends system uses an additional port that isn't currently open on your router.

Ahha! I figured out the issue. I was using a program called Synergy (multiple computers, one mouse/one keyboard) that was causing the Friends list to disconnect. I have been running it this morning both PC's without Synergy and have not been disconnected once. Woot!

So, if you don't want to deal with it, don't use Synergy with GW. ;p
