I thought Its ok I will download rest 50% later BUT! When I started again I saw how archive repair started then I waited abit AND! I saw how it wants to download WHOLE IMAGE AGAIN! My 50% gwdat ...its previous size was 2.2gb now its 800kb...LOL It happened few times.Everytime I spend few days... Can inetdc corrupt the file? How does it happen?

Here is interesting screen.

Imaging the .dat file doesn't just download whatever you haven't downloaded up to that point, it downloads everything again, so that won't help you.

As for the 50k files, you can probably get them as a background download in the game. So, just start up the game, log in, and look at the little dot down in the bottom right. If it has a lightning bolt in it, then the game is downloading the rest of the files in the background. You can still play while this is happening, but be careful if you're with a group. If you zone and don't have that zone downloaded yet, they'll have to wait on you to download and unzip those files.

Thanks For Fast Reply...
Ofc I tried to start without -image command. Simple Gw.exe WITH NO COMMANDS starts repairing& downloading WHOLE GWDAT, It downloads 3.7gb...

Now I started again and changed Gw destination on another hard drive... Gonna try again. Its rly annoying. I am after exams and wanna rest but these downladings...

Changing destinations is a good idea. Are you downloading over wireless?

How many times has it tried to redownload?

You have to let the image run all the way through, else it will start downloading where it left off.

Ok, so let's start with a clean slate. Go to your GW folder, and delete gw.exe. Leave the .dat file alone. Just delete the gw.exe file. Then go to http://www.guildwars.com/support/downloadclient and download the game client again. Then start up the game and let it download, ok?

It's going to have to download everything. Just let it run. That's all you can do. Just let it run.

Your provider dc-ing doesn't have much to do with it, as far as I can tell. It had something to do with a bad sector on your hard drive, where it was trying to write the previous .dat file to, more than likely.

File corruption because of an ISP is less likely than a bad sector.

It's a more advanced fix than most people are willing to perform. And it's possible to seriously mess up your stuff if you do it wrong, so I don't really want to go into it.

It's not anything to worry about really. If it was a bigger issue, Windows would probably let you know. If you really want to know though, google "fixing a bad sector" and go from there.

Happy to help.

How about good ol' checkdisk?

Open "My computer" (Just "Computer" on Vista), right-click on the suspect drive and select Properties. From the Properties window, select the Tools tab and click the button marked Error checking. check both boxes, click Start, sit back and cross your fingers.

Like this, only with both boxes checked

chkdsk is rather useless. Snag HDTune and check for SMART errors. If you encounter any then you may need a new drive. Do not defrag and minimalize disk usage.

If something is wrong with the drive you'll only kill it faster...
