Default Lag Issues

I get lag while playing GW. My ping goes up and down causing me to skip all over the place, 117-468.

My computer specs are:
Cable Internet
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
512mb RAM
Radeon 9600
120gig
Fresh install of Windows XP Professional
XP Service Pack 3
Everything has the latest driver, including bios and mother board drivers.

When I installed my account I chose Asia for my location, but I live in the United States, maybe this is causing my lag issue?

How can I Fix My Lag Issue? Please Help.

It's possible that is the issue, yes. You can always change it and see what happens.

well, since your actual location is in the US, where you chose your location on your computer won't matter.

your ping is, unfortunately, rather typical for an american player. mine can fluctuate anywhere between 97 to a whooping OVAH 9000!!!!!! ping.

if memory serves me correctly, there is only one GW server in north america, and its in texas. at this point, only some euro players get good ping.

I think since he installed his account with Asia as his district, his account info might be stored on the asian servers, which could be leading to his lag.

There are also servers in Washington, iirc.

There's no need to post another thread. Someone will be along to answer your question eventually. Please be patient.
