CPU = Processor. Processors are physical hardware chips attached to the motherboard which are un-affected by the virtual world of viruses. Sorry, just gets confusing when someone uses CPU in place of their entire computer to us techy-sort of people.

Your problem is (probably) in the Hard Drive (software within the HD to be exact) reinstall all graphical drivers/sound drivers and try GW again. Don't assume viruses are the cause unless your virus scanner is freaking out. If it was a virus, that virus seems to have ruined your drivers rather then the virus itself keeping you from playing, it simply corrupted them (if that's the case), just reinstall them and try it again.

Also if you have so many viruses causing serious errors like this and it keeps going on after you "fix" it by reinstalling some things, back up vital stuff format and do a clean install of XP/Vista whatever you use.

So you put your restoration discs in and the computer just shuts off? Weird... To reinstall the drivers though.. you gotta know your hardware devices and hit google to look for driver updates or the programs (drivers) themselves to reinstall.

Other then that, if the computer is seriously screwed up, then you need to format that hard drive clean and start over.

sorry, the reason why nobody had replied was that most of us have problems understanding you. while you don't need to have perfect english, at least make an effort with your grammar/punctuation. reading your original post gave me a headache.

anyways, that error file suggests you have either a bad memory stick or faulty vRAM on your graphic card. i'm not the expert on reading the file though, so take what i say with a grain of salt.

to completely reformat your machine and reinstall windows, here's what you do:

-restart/start computer, put your windows installation disk (assuming they gave you one) into the dvd drive
-immediately start pressing the DEL key until you get into the BIOS screen. then, change the boot order so that your dvd drive comes before your hard drive(s). this process is different depending on motherboard, so you'll have to figure this out yourself
-save changes and continue booting. your computer will boot off of the installation disk. follow the instructions, and make a fresh installation. let it install and keep following the instructions
-once you get back your desktop, install all windows updates (through windows update, this should be configured automatically), then install all your device drivers

NOTE: the above steps will erase EVERYTHING, so if you have any important files/documents, save them on a USB drive beforehand.

Start your computer up in safe mode with networking. Open Internet Explorer and get your system scanned by http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

What better to fix your computer than the maker.

It sounds like you've got malware running around and causing problems. Do you have any security stuff in place? If you don't mind I could help you via remote control with that lol, I do that for people I meet on the internet.

I can't see anything here that suggests viruses, to be honest. Why do you think you have viruses - does your virus scanner tell you so?

Does your laptop run other programs/games ok - is it just Guild Wars?

If you have viruses, then you need to take care of that problem before worrying about whether GW will run.

As far as people telling you to reformat, that is careless advice, as the problem is yet to be determined. Rather than listening to all of us, use competent anti-virus software to remove the viruses. If you are still having trouble, talk to your parents and explain the situation so you can get your computer serviced. Or at the very least get advice from someone whos credentials you can verify, rather than from random people in a forum.

Please download my Anti-Malware Toolkit and get the Professional package. Then follow the directions in the PC Cleanup guide. After that, please post a HijackThis log.

If you had to blow cold air through the fans, then that machine needs to see a service technician as soon as possible or the very least someone who can clean out the airways.

It sounds as though either a fan is failing or there's crap between the heatsink fins restricting airflow - this means that you are slowly cooking:- processor, RAM, graphics chips and motherboard interface chips. If you don't get this seen to soon then it will likely end up being an expensive repair or replacement machine.

...and honestly - download a free virus protection package, install it and keep it updated!!

Sounds like part of your RAM is dying to me.
