ive run guildwars on my pc for 6 months no issues at all
using virgin media cable with neatgear router
cable modem plugged into router running 2 ethernet
cables from router to my pc and my wifes, using no drivers
never have and never had an issue till tonight.
mcafee decieded there was a ip conflict and starting acting
up, we both run mcafee on both machines..

on my account i can load into ascalon factions
but i cant load my char into nf or la,

same for my wife she couldnt load her main char at all
but could login her mules, even better it let me login
her account and move her main char from nf to
ascalon were she can now login....

anyone no whats going on here, ran my modem and
router 6 months no issues no problems, then today
its all gone square...

whats the error code/message?

sounds unusual that only certain areas would load. servers are not separated by campaigns or anything like that. the only thing that i think would cause such a problem is possibly a corrupt gw.dat. otherwise it could be just random lag/connection issues--try again later.

did something change within mcafee? try disabling it temporary and see if that changes anything.

it could be that your able to connect to the servers, but not allowed to download new areas to the gw.dat file. and thats why your only able to access specific areas...but this sounds unlikely unless u recently (re-)installed gw. however, you can try running gw.exe with the command line option of -image, and see if that helps.

Default Meh

Im having the same issue today aswell.

Im from Britain and im with Virgin Media i having been having a few problems today connection drops and i reset router and it works again.

Then i was doing a mission in nightfall and lost connection it came back on and i havent had a problem with my connection since, however when i try and log my sin it doesnt load at all but i can log my monk whos in factions.

I submitted a ticket but got back the generic rubbish about ports not being forwarded. I know for a fact that isnt the problem as im well aware what ports are needed for guild wars to run and i havent had a single problem running it.

both me and my wife run gw both play together
and the router has worked with no issues 6 months.
as its 3am i can only report its letting me login but as
my wife is offline im unable to tell if it will drop me again
if she logs in. will update later

still using router letting me access all 4 games
update later when we both come online see
what happens then.
