Default Unusual Lag, can anyone help?

Going to post my problem here, maybe someone can help me out because that's what i'm looking for.

I'm currently having lag issues that have seem to arise over night, i've been lagging for about a week now and i would very much like it to stop so i can play GW.The lag popped out of nowhere, no new programs, nothing visible that i can put a finger on that caused it.As i said it's been going for about a week now, i'm not disconnecting but every like few mins my ping will skyrocket and rubberband me leaving my character unable to move/act..needless to say this is hindering my pvp preformance as well as just basically trying to play the game.My computer is a Dell inspiron 1525 laptop..and before this week it ran GW smoother than a river rock for a year.
The same problem happened to me when i used to play GW on my desktop, lag was so bad i couldn't do anything, i could never use the desktop for GW again and i'm hoping it isn't going to be the same situation for my laptop. The internet connection is an incrypted wifi signal from my kitchen computer, and before this week had no problems whatsoever. >>ANY HELP<< would be appreciated. plz pm me in game IGN:Lo The Fallen Angel...if you can help? Oh and also, i'm experiencing some slowness in my internet minor slow loading that is slightly less then it was like 4-5 days ago like mentioned above. MY desktop which i get wifi access from runs really slow but that never effected my laptop before a few days ago...i just want the lag gone can anyone help me?

I've been getting the same problem the past few days. I'll be humming along at 140 ping then it will spike up to like 13,000 ping.

If I run an internet connection diagnostic during these lag spikes, it shows 2.75 mbps with excellent quality of service.

When I run the GW internet connection test, it hangs at Discovering external address...

the problem is: 1) problem with anet's servers, which is actually quite common. 2) how your ISP routes your connection to anet's servers, which seems to be generally quite bad, despite GW being the second largest mmo in the world. and/or 3): combination of both.

unfortunately for you and everyone else, there's nothing you can do about it. calling your ISP will result in them telling you to talk to anet. talking to anet will cause them to tell you to talk to your ISP. you, and everyone else, is stuck until the problem go away by itself (hopefully, anyways).

The problem is, that without an actual "hands-on" look at your equipment, no one on here is going to tell you some magic-bullet sort of answer that fixes your problem. We would also need to know a few details such as:

- are you experiencing lag in other on-line games or sites? For example, do Youtube videos play lag-free?

- is your computer/chipset perhaps overheating.

- etc........

However, the most likely answer is that it is just plain old internet lag that you can't really do much about.

Run anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.

I've been having the same horrendous lag issue since the last round of updates and think it must be a problem with GW. All of a sudden the game has become a MAJOR system-resources hog. I'm talking like 80-100% steady. At first I was thinking something strange must have happened to my computer, but I've looked carefully at what I have going on and have completely eliminated that--internet connection speed is normally 10 mbps and up, and when I don't have GW loaded, my computer hums normally.

Moving to lesser-used Asian districts and so on helps somewhat, but not enough.

My one theory about this is that it may have something to do with screen resolution. GW still runs normally on my laptop, which has a native resolution of 1024x768. On my desktop, which uses a large flat-screen with a native resolution of 1280x1024, the game can be a real beast.
