Default Mysterious lockups since update

I've been getting rather mysterious lockups since the last update. Everything locks up except for the mouse. My computer isn't a powerhouse but its not weak by any means. I've had GW installed on it for quite some time and it has only locked up one or two times in the past, ever. My computer was even dusted out recently as well.

Intel 6400 dual core @ 2.13GHz
2gb of RAM
NVidia GeForce 7900 GS
Windows XP 32-bit

Lockups have occurred in:
Empty Guild Hall (weeping stone).
Empty Hall of Monuments (three times).
Lion's Arch.

Its not an overheating issue, both CPU and GPU are fine on temperature.

It turns out after I decided to wait at a stuck screen for ~20 seconds that it wasn't a total lockup. Instead, one time it jumped to this, and I decided to take some screenshots of the hilarity of what happened.

Me trying desperately to see what I'm doing:

Ironically, after it bugged out on everything, it was running at better than normal fps. Total fluidity in the busiest of outposts. Even so, the GPU temperature remained normal. Is the video card just dying or something? I have not yet tried running other Direct 3d games yet.

The only thing different from the times it has screwed up is fullscreen mode. I haven't had it happen to me yet in windowed mode.

Has anyone else had problems since the last update or is it my computer trying to eat me in a very colorful manner?

It's not TM, since windows itself also is scrambled. To me it looks like either overheated or broken graphics card.... (temp sensors can get wrong)
Did this happen exactly after the update, or was it since you cleaned your pc?
Does this happen with other graphic-intense programs (other games, hq video) as well? Does it happen when you've played guildwars for a bit, or is it straight from start?

Have you tried playing in windowed mode and succeeded for a longer period of time without problems?

I would suggest try playing other games see what happens. Isolate the problem to see if it's just gw, if it's just on intensive 3d rendering or just completely random.

I finally got it to happen once when in windowed mode. After reinstalling my video drivers, I ran a stress test with 6 simultaneous GW instances sitting in D'Alessio Seaboard overnight. No lockups.

It is strange that it occurred after the update, but I will still vouch for it not being an overheating problem. My GPU in all cases has been only a little above idle temp, using both NVidia's CP and Rivatuner to watch it.

I will post if it happens again, but so far it seems a driver reinstall took care of the problem.
