Angry Login trouble

I recently downloaded the Guild Wars game. I typed in my username with @ncsoft part and I did my password. But when I try to login, a message pops up saying it can't connect to the the login servers. Something about a internet routing. It also said that if kept happening, I should visit the support center. I tried that twice, but it still wasn't working. Is this game even worth playing anyway?

Might wanna be clearer... You tried a username (aka email) using the ncsoft domain? You have to put in your email that you used to register the account with.

It most likely means your antivirus/router. This happened to me while I was using Nod32 Antivirus 3.0.

Can you first tell me the name of the Antivirus you use?

Edit: I made a tutorial on how to configure NOD32 Antivirus to play Guild Wars.

There's been a bit of trouble i suppose. Some guildies of mine complained about not being able to load missions.

If you are using a PlayNC account to log in make sure you are typing [email protected] not [email protected] to log in. If you aren't using a PlayNC account it is just the e-mail address you signed up with for the log in.

I would try disabling antivirus while you play and make sure your firewall is set to "unblock" Guild Wars. If using Windows you can find the firewall in the control panel. If neither of those are the case then it may be your router. Your best bet with a router is to ask for help on the forums for whatever company makes it.

I don't know what's happening. I still can't login. What does it mean when it can't connect to the login servers. Are there too many players logged in to the game.

No, I can still login just fine.

Answer my question, what Antivirus are you using?

Possible problems:

1. Mcafee is blocking Gw.exe.
2. Firewall is blocking ports.

Disable the AV and Firewall you are using and connect to GW. If it let you log in, good. Now enable your Firewall. Now is it letting you login? If yes, its your AV. If no, its your firewall.

Also another thing if a AV/FW is blocking Gw.exe, the announcements will not show up as there in the same stream as the Login panel.

What's the AV? Does it stand for Anti-Virus?

Yes, AV stands for Antivirus.

My mom doesn't feel comfortable about disabling the Anti-Virus and the Firewall. You see, the computer I'm using now had a problem in December '08 and none of could use it. So mom hired a computer guy to fix it, but it was expensive.
But will disabling the security really work and if so, is there a way to play game with the Anti-Virus and Firewall intact?
