Default Beeps from computer

My computer is making this *beep beep beep beep beep* noise.

- This happens right as I turn on the power and it goes into BIOS.

- It's a dell 9300 laptop, I play GW 12 hours a day so that might be breaking it (it overheats sometimes).

- I probably don't have any viruses.

- There are some broken keys, and since I haven't got my new keyboard yet it might be upset about that (this is probably what it is?).

Can you tell me why my computer is beeping at me loudly.

Im not computer Expert, but the only time my computer ever made continuious beeping sounds was when the Ram was not inserted properly.

so it will only go into BIOS? does it do that automatically, or do you enter the BIOS manually? Is it non-stop "beeping" or a certain number of "beeps"? the number of beeps may tell the problem.....

Some things I can think of:

1. The BIOS can't detect the presence of a monitor during boot up. But, this is usually only a brief series of beeps (3 or 4), and the comp should still work. (It is possible for the monitor to still work, even though the comp can't tell it's there. )

2. The BIOS has detected bad RAM or no RAM during boot up. Often times this can be cured by blowing the dust out of the system and then removing and reinstalling the RAM.

3. A key stuck down on the keyboard. Try using a different keyboard.

3.5 A cooling fan, particularly the CPU fan, not working. Check that all fans are running and blow the dust out of the rig anyway.

4. Depending upon the BIOS and /or manufacturer involved, the beeps could indicate a wide variety of problems. Check on their website(s) for beep codes.
