I noticed these kind of lags when I tried Guild Wars on Win7 today. My ping seemed to be higher (200-300), when it's usually below 70-100. But not just that, seemed like everything "lagged". When I tried moving skill icons around, by clicking and holding the mouse button, the icons followed the mouse trail with a delay. And rotating the camera also caused a bit of delay.. all seemed kinda.. I dunno, sleepy lol. Didn't notice a change in fps tho, but it seemed to run kinda smoother. Not sure if I set up Windows 7 the right way, I just installed in on a new partition to keep Vista, and tried playing GW right away.

I get a constant 60FPS with VSYNC on, and around 10FPS faster than XP both in Full Screen and Windowed, and 5FPS faster than Vista. Game runs at highest settings with KSMod, and it runs faster than XP and Vista, which is awesome!. I have a 5000+X2 Black Edition @ 3.2Ghz, Radeon HD 4850 512MB and 4GB G.Skill Pi DDR-800 RAM.

Brand new pc. Fresh install of the Win7 RC and has been running flawlessly. I'm actually starting to grow quite fond of it.

Running in 7 with no troubles too. Except, maybe, bugged Creative Alchemy (have got an Audigy 4 and Alchemy seems not to work in GW).

Of course it will. Windows 7 is backwards compatiblewith Vista. Any non-system programs that run under Vista will also run onder 7. And GW runs fine under vista.

Mmm, found this via search.

I just installed 7 on a new hard drive on my laptop, so I thought I'd install GW and see how it'd run. However, once installed, GW gives me this error.

" 3D Initialization Error

Guild Wars was unable to initialize 3D output for your system. Please verify that you have installed DirectX 8 and an updated video driver, and that your system meets the following minimum specifications:"

I was under the impression that 7 came with DirectX 11 installed.. is this correct? I've already updated my drivers.. however, should I use the 32-bit Vista drivers instead of the XP ones that I normally use? (I use XP when I'm on my regular hard drive.)

Edit: Vista driver worked.

You should use the Windows 7 drivers. Pretty much every company has them available.
