Default FPS suddenly 10 or less

Usually when I play gw my FPS is always above 60, but for some reason all of a sudden it sticks around 4-5 and won't go any higher than 10... My graphics card is a 7900GS with all the latest drivers installed etc...

if you're experiencing the same bad performance from other games and slugging windows, you'll need to check your fans.

overheating FTL.

if that's not the case, uninstall/re-install?

i used to have a similar problem and i couldn't figure out why all games were being sluggish and closing down. turns out my internet card was interfering with my motherboard and graphics card, forcing things to close and whatnot.

i don't think this is your problem, but my point is that it could be down to anything.

Check the air ports and fans on your computer. A failed fan isn't letting cool air into the machine, and a failed fan on the Graphics Card is literally going to kill it. Also, if you hae never opened your PC and you have owned it for a while, there is also most likely a caking of dust covering the air vents or even clogging fans. Try that first.

Trust me when I tell you, cleaning even a small amount of dust can take a computer that acts like it's hardware is dying (with corresponding BSOD's explaining that the hardware is bad) and make it run like new again when the dust is gone, BSOD free.
