Default code 045 without even logging in for ages, why?

Ok,

I used to be a regular player in guild wars, i have achieved quite a lot in this game that im proud of. Lately i have not played so much, infact the last time i logged in was for 5 minutes to get that free storage pane (when it was first introduced), before that it was to get the new Hero and that is it.

Between the free storage pane and now i have not logged in at all!

I try to log in now and my account has been permantly banned with a code 045......i had no warning of this anywhere, i have not had my account suspended before so a perma ban for nothing is extremely uncalled for.

I fear i may have been hacked as i have a 2nd account which i can not log into, when i try to reset password it says the email address used is not registered with them.

I did hear something about players who purchased from the ingame store randomly got banned, has this been fixed? (sorry for not knowing i havent really looked at gw stuff in a while)

I highly doubt this if he hasn't actually logged on in a while. I honestly think there is a serious problem with security at arenanet. Didn't someone say someone actually was able to hack accounts from the GW server itself and every account hacked was banned to prevent damage to the account, and the owner had to unlock it?

OP: Just contact support and provide them with your account keys used to create the account initially and explain your story well. I'm sure it's probably a ban that was the result of actually protecting your account.

Because first instinct is to. GURU is the biggest fansite for guildwars. So someone shocked about a ban like this most likely will come here to ask questions hoping someone will answer them.

He said he logged in recently though for the free pane, wich was about June. He said that he never logged in between the time he saw the ban and that pane, so he would've added the password to the memory of the keylogger.

Ex. He installed the keylogger unknowingly (probably) during this time (examples).

Before last dated login-------June.---------------------------------------Today
^installed ^un-used time. ^keylogger took password.

My guess is keylogger

It could've also been installed previously in the date before June, and added it during the time he logged in on June, and account was stolen and thus making him unable to login Today.

As people have stated, you'll have to contact support. Unfortunately there's nothing we can really do to help you out.

If you believe you may have been infected, please download my Anti-Malware Toolkit and get the package that matches your Operating System. Then follow the directions in the PC Cleanup guide. After that, please post a HijackThis log in a new thread.

I have to respond to this even though it's a closed thread.

Everyone if you see people who have not logged on for a long time complaining of a perma ban and 045 it's because they are affected by this:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10388313

And they need this post to be specific:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...0&postcount=74

Hundreds and it seems thousands of accounts were banned by Anet and all these people need to do is contact support to get their accounts back. I believe it's important to let them know they are not an isolated case though.
