could you give me an URL from which you got the files? Maybe indeed something is corrupt, I don't know anymore... I just get a bit frustrated when everything I try doesn't work...

Consider trying this: List your Texmod version, and link where you got it from. Do the same with the modifications you're trying to run and their download location. This allows someone else to try to run the same as you and attempt to reproduce the issue.

I got the Texmod program from here:
http://www.tombraiderhub.com/tr7/mod...oad/texmod.zip

But where I got the TPF files from I can't remember, because I had to use Google for those...

I can't seem to find the version of the program, but it was made on the 21st of April 2006

I would recommend getting TexMod and the tpf files from the wiki.

yes that would be a good idea...I know that one of the ones I had (for elona) wouldnt work...so I found a link in the elona thread and downloaded that one...it worked....
so try redownloading from a better source and see if that helps.

Only real way is to use a decent anti-virus solution. Most paid for solutions tend to be worse than even the free version of avg.

No offense, but the Texmod-program itself comes from Wiki, the first link you see there (the one I posted earlier on here), and I can't seem to find any TPF files on Wiki...

Am I noob, or am I terrible at searching?

Uninstall McCrappy, then get Avira or AVG, or NoD32 if you like to pay for things.

Unhappy

well.... yesterday I got the Texmod program with one of the TPF files from one of my mates from our alliance, who said that it worked on his computer (he has Vista too), but it didn't work on my PC either, so I guess it's not gonna happen for me...sigh...

Here's a thought: Are you sure that the problem is with Texmod itself and not a bad .tpf file? Try running Texmod with no .tpf's selected and see what happens.

this is off topic but UAC prevents rootkits from getting into your computerhttp://www.winmatrix.com/forums/inde...howtopic=18441, so I would advise you enable it and to get back ontopic from the wiki you can download texmod here http://www.tombraiderhub.com/tr7/mod...oad/texmod.zip
and all wiki's tpf's http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide..._modifications

hope this helps, if not sorry for wasting your time.

This is true. UAC should only be disabled with advanced users who understand how to properly run a computer. UAC may be a bit annoying at times, but if you are not an advanced computer user, it can also save you and your personal data.

When I click Texmod.exe and just select GW.EXE as the application without using the TPF-file, Guildwars DOES start up normally. So that would suggest the TPF-file is crappy. BUT: I got this file from one of my alliance mates, and he said that it worked fine on his computer.

So now I'm even more puzzled...

Tell you what, if you're on xfire or (god forbid) MSN, PM me with your contacts and I'll dc my copies over. Suppose I could email them - but it's around 18MB for the three.
